What kind of scoring does your league use?

I am considering entering a league where they use a 'modified' version of the Stableford System (in their system you get 1 point for a bogey and hanidcap being figured in for NET score) and they keep a running total of your points for the league position.

I am not sure that I like this idea, as I would rather get into a league with team match play position against position based on handicap ...

So I guess I want to ask is how does your league score and what do you like and/or dislike about it?

Our league plays different games every week.

Individual low gross, 2 man best ball, 2 man shamble, 2 man scramble, modified stableford, beat the pro, blind partner, individual low net, 4 club, 2 man 3-3-3 (3 bb,3 sh,3 scr), etc.

At the end of the season (Sept. to Oct.) we play a match play tourney.

Plus each day has various prizes - CTP, fewest putts, closest 3rd shot on par 5, longest putt ...

Our league uses a modified Stableford format where your score is compared against a quota based on your handicap. I like the system since it 1) gives everybody a chance to do well and 2) by effectively setting a maximum score for each hole, it speeds play somewhat. Twice a year they'll have a four-man scramble, with pairings based on handicap.

Our league website keeps track of the modified stableford score, but we only use that to determine Ryder Cup captains.

Our basic setup is 2-man teams and we play individual match (1 pt per hole) and 1 point for winning the match - so 10 points available per match. Low handicappers in each team play each other and same with high handicappers, so in any 4-some there are a total of 20 points available each week.
