I am getting ready to order some L-S-G Cleveland CG12 RTG/DSG wedges. Using the "Smartfit" order form on Golfsmith as I will be ordering them 1" overlength and 2 degrees upright. Saw where several shaft options were available, but I don't have a clue if one is better than the other.

Anyone have a suggestion on which shaft to get and why? This is the only thing I need to figure out at this point. As usual, thanks for any help.

Below are the options on Golfsmith "Smart Fit" page...

Mid launch- Precision tour flighted rifle steel for extra $10
Mid launch- Cleveland traction steel standard and zero extra charge
Mid launch- Precision rifle steel extra $10
Variable launch- Project X flighted steel extra $25

I saw something recently that says one of the important factors in shafts in wedges is try to find a shaft that is as similar as possible to your irons. Wedge shafts are typically a little stiffer, but you should try to find a model that closely resembles the feel of those in your irons if possible. The following article might help:

I agree...what shafts do you play in your irons? I would put the same shafts in your wedges. I have DG X100 in my irons and my wedges and I love this set up as the feel through out the set feels the same on full shots and the feel on chipping and pitching has not been compromised...good luck with what ever you decide...

TEE - XCG6, 13º, Matrix Ozik HD6.1, stiff
Wilson Staff - Ci11, 3-SW, TX Fligthed, stiff

Odyssey - Metal X #7, 35in

Wilson Staff - FG Tour ball

Thanks for the link and suggestions.

Problem with matching the shafts, currently I have graphite shafts in my irons. Older Callaway Big Bertha Gold irons, love them, but I do need to get some steel for them. Got them off the Callaway Preowned site and it was a great deal. Steel shafts would be a nice improvement I suspect.
