Does anyone have any expereince with anything besides the voodoo shaft in this club? I liked the voodoo at first, but im becoming kind of inconsisant with it. Sometimes low, sometimes high. I dont get it. All the score marks on the face are right in the middle, so im not mis-hitting it that often. My 585H club has consistant ballflight with the V2 shaft i have in it.

You can see what I've got in the bag in my sig. I've preferred the stiffer, heavier V2s over the Voodoos for awhile now. Read the reviews I wrote too - the Voodoos kept sending the ball high and a bit left for me, while the V2 was lower and the ball didn't stay left like with the Voodoo.

The balls ive been getting that frustrate me with the voodoo are similar. Moonshots that break left late in flight. If i got a V2 H in put into my 909 (i have a 104g in my 585) would there more overlapping issues since the lofts are so close? When i get the mid-flight from the voodoo, it works great and i dont get overlap, but when the moon balls come i dont hit it much further than my 585.

I don't know. And I'm not saying that to be rude, but because I don't have a clue how you hit the ball or anything. Can you find a demo day and try them out?

My "moonshots" with the driver and the other clubs didn't really curve left - they just stayed left and floated and didn't have that slight fade to them. They went almost as far (98% as far, or so, roughly) but into the wind I'd have probably given up a bit of distance. So they're not quite the same as yours.

You have the shafts and have hit with both combos. So i was asking on that basis. Im never going to get to hit a 909h with a V2 in it without reshafting my own club. And titliest hates New Jersey. They never come here.

I prefer steel shafts in my fairway woods and I got the 909H with an S300 and have a consistent ball flight with it.

No i havent. It seems like a good idea, though. Id like to test it but there is no way without reshafting my own club. I think im probably going to swap the same shaft i have in my 21 hybrid and hope i like the results. The voodoo is really frustrating me at times and i have qualifing for the state pub links coming up in 5 weeks.

I have the v2 shaft in my bag...it works OK. Honestly though, the reason i dont love the club is more because of the head. Good luck with you search, I see myselfswitching to a 18* 909 5 wood soon.

I think you might like the results of a steel shaft. I've played steel in my fairway woods for as long as I can remember. I prefer the heavier weight for one and just seems to give me a more consistent ball flight as well. Hopefully it will do the same for you.

I had always heard good things about the Voodoo shaft and went to get fitted for a 909D3 driver in a Trackman and the voodoo gave me near perfect numbers. I went to the range to test the Voodoo so I could see the ball flight and it was all over the map even though I was getting good numbers on the launch monitor. I ended up trying about 12 different shafts for the D3 and the Voodoo was probably the worst ball flight of all. Ended up going with a the Matrix Ozik XCon 6 and like it quite well.

    • Can be out and up a little more. Not quite over-done yet.
    • Down the line and face on from today. Still feeling like I’m sticking the club into a hole in the ceiling above my right shoulder and then big loop inside to start downswing. That’s how it feels. Not how it looks though! Gotta keep working on this for a bit but I see a lot of progress. 😁
    • Day 5 (13 Mar 26) - Friday shootout cancelled- made it a practice round working from mixed tees. Plenty of up and down work around greens.  Best was a hole out birdie on the par 3 #5 hole - nice pitch and roll w/Pw from about 10yds off the green - dead center flagstick drop.  Much of round was focused on getting solid weight shift into lead foot.
    • Day 208 3-13 Worked on wrist arching and flow. First time hitting reall balls at a range in months. It was nice to see ball flight. Still not sure it beats my backyard practice station.
    • Three hole match - microphones on in the cart. It's fascinating listening to them talk about their shots and how they play them. I'm not normally a huge fan of the TM videos - they seem forced to me - but this one doesn't. It's also fun seeing their competitiveness over what on the face of it is a fairly meaningless 3 holes, but they can't help themselves.
