What are split cavity irons?

I think some of the Mizuno Dual Muscle Mp-52 and MP-62 irons are comparable...I'm not exactly sure what split cavity entails though...something like not a blade, but not a full cavity iron.

I think the MP-52's are split cavity - and i am saving up for the suckers!

My TM R7 irons also have a split cavity. At least it looks similar to the Mizuno's.
