I am looking for a club that I can start practicing with in the back yard with some short distance balls, before I talk to a trainer. Basically something I can start getting familiar with after not driving or much less holding a golf club for about 3-4 years. I have looked into some of the local shops online ads and I have come to these few choices. I would rather not spend tons of money on my first couple of clubs, I'll save that for when I really will start to feel the difference. I have read some posts here that recommend irons as the best practice tools, but I would rather have a driver. So, in the end does it really even matter between the two?

Would something like this be alright to practice with whiffle balls and play with it at the driving range.

I think it makes a huge difference (considering the swing you use to hit a drive is markedly different to the standard iron swing). I would get a
7-iron off ebay and use that, or you could take a leaf out of the most exciting golfer of all time's book (Seve) and learn with a 3-iron.

In the Bag:

R7 Draw, stiff Exsar FS2
F-50 3-wood, stiff Exsar FS2
F-50 5-wood, stiff Exsar FS2 MP-60 3-PW, reg TT dynamic gold MP Tour Style 54.10 and 60.09,reg TT dynamic gold Bobby Grace DCT Response, w/ golf pride "2 thumb" grip B330S

3 iron you say? Hmm, maybe ill check that out. I wish I could just buy a 3 iron from a store. I guess ill have to check out a pro shop for some demo clubs. Are demo clubs clubs that were tested buy no one purchased? Kind of like a display item...

EDIT: didnt see the post #3
