Having returned to golf after a fifteen year layoff and still recovering from the shock of having to use plastic spikes instead of real ones, another thing that is bugging me is the golf bag carrying strap. I never saw double straps when I played (except for the caddies carrying for the pros, and then not all of them). I have just bought a bag with double straps. I know that they spread the load etc but I do not like them. Try as I might I have not been able to find a single strap to put on my bag. (I'm in the UK). Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Thanks

Just use one side of the strap. I did that the whole time I carried my bag (I use a push cart now). It had a double strap but I just put the one strap over my right shoulder.

The only problem I see with the double strap is that the bag is constantly clanking against my back when I walk. So I do use one side of the strap.

However I could probably fix that by moving the bag quite a bit up or down. Have to experiment.

I know (I can feel it) that my back appreciates it when I use the complete back-pack style strap.
