Cheers everyone, happy to join. Been golfing forever, but just now began taking lessons from a PGA Teaching Pro...oh if I only started earlier. Latest golfing acquistion is an Odyssey, White Hot Steel Two Ball Putter: mallet head, center shaft design. Can't wait to give it a go this weekend.

Hey JRC welcome. I'm also new, joined yesterday, but planning on contributing a lot to the forum. I have an Odyssey, Duel Force 2. Personally I never could get into the 2 balls, and especially the new 3 ball. It just seemed to distracting. Anyway, enough of my rant, I'm sure it'll go great for you and welcome!

Thanks for the welcome Minnesotagolfer! Yeah, I never thought I'd go for the 2-ball/3-ball thing either. As it happened I was trying out a number of different styles and brands in the putter-box at our local Bobick's Nevada Bob's store and the two-ball caught me on how easy it was to line-up. Swings and feels great too. At 33 inches, it fits me well. I guess the proof will be in the putting this Saturday. Have a great 4th of July weekend.

Yea. You should let me know how it goes. Maybe I'll have to jump back on the wagon and maybe give it a chance. Good luck and have a great 4th too.

Well. I'm back from my Saturday round with the new Odyssey 2-ball and loved it. Line-up was so much easier and gave me greater confidence in striking the ball and going fro the cup. Unfortunately, the golfer wasn't so good, shot a 99..not the putter's fault. Yep, I guess I'll keep her.

    • Day 243 (2 Jan 25) - Grandson directed drills today - he wanted to hit easy pitches into the holes of the Martin bird house (had it at ground level) - it is doable but it calls for a perfectly executed shot.  He came close a couple of times.  For me it’s about distance control and such.  Drill two - me hit same foam balls to him while he’s in the swing saucer - into a slight wind…now it’s distance control plus anticipating the wind.  A fun exercise - got really close on a number of shots.  Drill three - take his youth Cobra SW and hit flops into to the foam ball basket while he was holding it. Great eye-hand work for him - wedge control for me.  That little wedge  works well.  By the end my junior coach was done and I was too….
    • Going to give this a try for a while and see if it sticks.  Day 1 Today was some full practice: 30 minutes of range work focused on coordinating weight transfer based on Evolvr feedback 10 minutes putting speed control work 10 minutes chipping practice with random targets 5 minutes bump and run work with 7 iron
    • Day 23: 1/2/2025 Had a great range session today. It was downright frigid this morning at the range, but the overhead heater made it tolerable. I started off working on my PPJ swing thought. Some slower, swings, somewhat exaggerating the movements. Then I switched focus and just hit the 6-iron about a half dozen times without thinking. I filmed two of these swings to send to Yoda.  After that, I worked my way up and down the bag (random practice... yay.) Hitting one shot with each club aiming at a specific target. I tried to focus on where and not how. Over all, I was pretty impressed with my results.  If you categorize each shot as either good, bad or good enough. I would say nearly all of them were either in the good or good enough category. Again, yay.  I'm going to do some more mirror work tonight, looking at my videos I think I can still improve what I'm doing. But over all, I was really happy with today's range session. I feel like I've had a giant leap forward in my swing. We shall see if the progress can continue.  Yay.
    • Day 169: did a stack session. Worked on the early backswing stuff with slow rehearsal swings during rest breaks as well.
    • I really think it's just to keep people from doing silly stuff like saying "Oh, yeah, that spike mark will be my ball marker." or "That slightly greener blade of grass." Then when they go to replace their ball they have literally no idea which spike mark or blade of grass.
