Been playing Scratch wedges for the entire year and played Callaway's last year. A few weeks ago I hit a friends Mizuno MP Series 56* wedge (not the -T or -R the older model). He had the club ported, SQ grooves cut, and a new grind added. Wow is all I can say! Butter with a side of butter . Since these clubs are older (and I believe they did not sell very well) they are difficult to find. I found a 60-06 and a 56-10 last week from Nomad WRX Tour Van . Took both to the course yesterday and they are silky smooth. The grinds are fantastic, the grooves are sick, and the True Temper Nomad 355 Boss Spin shaft is a perfect fit. O.k. I'm done pimping these guys but just wanted to say these wedges are awesome….I think I'm going to turn pro

Huh? What Scratch wedges did you own/use before? I have a few Tour Department wedges and they are easily the best that I've ever used. Enough so that I'm really lusting after a set of SB-1's.

I have the JLM series. Don't get me wrong the Scratch wedges are fantastic and I plan on keeping the 53* in my bag. Something about the older Mizuno MP Series at address won me over. Shape (more rounded then teardrop), set-up (thinner top line), weight (feels like a heaver swing weight) all seem more suited to my eye and game. I know one thing I spent way too much money on the 2 clubs I just bought...my wife is surely going to skin me when she finds out

. Agreed on the SB-1's. They are absolutely beautiful.

Okay, that makes a bit more sense. I have TD wedges so they are exactly what I wanted in every aspect; shape, weight, shaft, grip, finish, loft, lie, length, etc, etc. The JLM series is still a great wedge but, like pretty much all others, it's still an "off the rack" wedge and does incorporate compromises which will differ from golfer to golf (or, may be perfect for you if you're lucky).

I'm a strong advocate for the TD wedges, they are fantastic!
