So basically I'm clueless on the differences between today's popular iron shafts. What I'm looking for is a stiff shaft that will give me the highest trajectory as right now I'm definitely a low ball hitter. I realize this is good in some instances, but my 7 irons look like many people's 3 irons.

What I've gathered from my research is that project x shafts have the highest ball flight when compared with other popular iron shafts of today. If someone could "rank" these shafts in terms of ball flight, I would appreciate it.

Dynamic Gold S300, Project X 5.5, Rifle Flighted Shafts, and True Temper Black Gold Stiff shafts.

Thanks.

Do you want all your irons to have a high ball flight? I ask because you might want to look at the True Temper Tour Concept series. These have a high ball flight in the long irons, mid-to-high in the middle irons and low-to-mid in the scoring irons (allowing for better control)

The only draw back with these and other flighted irons is that you might lose some overall distance because you will get lesser roll.

As for your original question, the PX will give you a higher ballflight. You should also look at the Tour Issue dynamic gold. They are better than the standard issue as the controls in making them are tighter resulting in better produced irons. They also have an incredible dispersion (control) similar to the PX.

Thanks for your post. I basically want the ability to hit the longer and middle irons high or low, depending on what I want. Right now, all I can do is hit them low with the occasional high one. Distance isn't a problem so the flighted idea sounds like it would be up my alley. Now, which one do I choose I guess is the question.

I would try the Tour Concept and Project X, first. Check the PX and True Temper website for a dealer near you and have him let you wack both.

I don't know what flex you are looking for but note that the Tour Concepts only come standard in three: Regular, Stiff and X Stiff. The PX come from 5.0 to 7.0. The 5.0 is regular, 5.5 stiff, 6.0 stiff plus, 6.5 x stiff and 7.0 is x stiff plus. The good thing about this is that most good fitters can step these shafts for you. Meaning, if you play between a regular and stiff flex, they can create a shaft in a 5.3 flex. (As an example)
