Wow.....I know I have a long way to go, but after taking a video and watching it I dont like it even more lol.

For any who like to offer advice, critique etc here is my swing.

Please note that at 31 seconds it is a second swing, one that I have started using more recently as it feels more comfortable. It uses the right arm more to drive the club through the swing.



And please dont be worried about being gentle :)

Start the downswing from the ground up. Shift your weight to your front foot, which will cause a hip bump, which will turn your hips, which will turn your shoulders, turning your arms, turning your hands, with the club leading until impact, when they should be about even I believe.



Notice how he starts the downswing. You don't necessarily need that much lag, but it will improve your distance.

Thanks Shankapotamus, I noticed that too. As you can see I have a larg upper body compared to my lower, meaning it takes a dominant step in almost anything I do, golf swing included.

I'm not too sure about my wrist hinging at impact either, it looked to me like I stop pulling my left arm and allow my right arm to push the club through and create a hinge.

Your swing isn't bad at all. Do you hit a hook a lot? You have a very compact swing with little movement - which isn't a bad thing.

My golfing buddy is in the same boat - larger upper body. He widens his stance a bit and stands a bit further from the ball and that seemed to make a big difference.

Allow that big upper body go after the ball and play a nice draw.

Just some thoughts - hope they help somewhat

Actually I slice quite a bit, but that seems to be getting better with a grip repair I made where I focus on setting up proper pressure in some key points of my gip.

I'm also starting to work on keeping my back a little straighter during setup and swing.

You start to get a little "wristy" in your swing in some areas (ie: takeaway, a little at the top)

    • Day 33 (13 Dec 25) - Worked on weight shift and resetting the left heel during downswing (after listening to a discussion on Golf School this morning on PGA Tour Radio).  It centered on how Jack Nicklaus lifted his lead heel and how long driver champs do as well.  Taking cues from that discussion, worked an exaggerated feel of the left heel working doing some swing drill in the backyard using the 7i.  Wrapped up the session by hitting a few low bump and run shots in the backyard - keeping the process slow and exaggerated.  
    • Day 123 12-13 Rotation and getting to lead side work. Recorded face on. Hit a few foam balls but did plenty of rehearsals today.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
