How many people here have health issuses that hold back your golf game?

I have some problems that are holding me back and I'm coming to realize that fact. Wouldn't normaly say anything about it, but it's one of those days. Go on and vent if you need to.

Thankfully I don't have any health problems. May I ask what it is that's hurting you physically?

I have psoriasis and have had to deal with a few bouts of pretty severe arthritis that can result from this. A recent flare-up last year left me in a state where I could physically walk the course without too much pain, but the next two days were unbearable. That kinda puts a damper on the enthusiasm and ability. Fortunately I've found a treatment that has almost overnight eliminated the arthritis, so as soon as I get some free time I hope to go test it out on the course.

Don't want to get into all that really. It's a long story. Just wanted to see how many others had issuse affecting their game.

Old age mostly.

I've got lower back problems that flair up once in a while and, after three surgeries, no more carteladge in my left knee. All due to skiing incidents. Then the great pumpkin carving incident of 2004 (as it's now referred to at home) caused nerve damage in my left hand which has created some adjustments. All in all... nothing that I can't work around.

Now that sounds like my Dad. He was a coal miner for over 30 years and his back and joints are shot. We play 2 days a week and he plays another 1 or 2 days. How somedays I wonder. He's a tough ol raskel. Still puts a woopin on me most days.

Wow, I've got a big list and I'm only 53, (I know, thats older than dirt to some of you), multiple orthopedic surgeries and bone grafts, due to a motorcycle accident some years ago, 2 bad disks in my lower back, 2 heart attacks, one triple bypass, one stent, that covers the big stuff. I didn't start playing golf until I was 36 years old, which was after my motorcycling days were over. I try not to let any of these things interfere with my game, with the exception of graphite shafts to lessen hand and joint pain, and limited practice due to my back. I play 2 or 3 times a week, try to walk at least one of those rounds, and maintain about a 9 hcp.

Thanks for the PM Knockglock. You made me rethink a little!

I've thought about this some so I'll shed a little more light on myself. Stage 4 colon cancer is the holdback with my game but I still get out and try to get better. I'm clean now but have been dealing with this for 12 years. Mostly the last 5. Not looking for sympathy here but thought I'd start a post and hear some other peoples stories. In the process maybe it will inspire some who are having problems and need a good read.

I've been battling chronic fatigue, stress (got permanently laid off) and diabetes (stress has led to some unhealthy eating). This has greatly affected my golf game. I feel weak and tired all the time and I've lost considerable distance, particularly on my drives. It had gotten so bad I was considering giving up the game as it was just no fun anymore but I battled through it and am starting to feel a little better now. In fact, yesterday and today I've felt better than I have in a long time so I'm looking forward to golf this weekend.
