Is it illegal to write yardages on your wedges?

Or if there's a tier, I'll often roll or bounce it up the tier. Green firmness, etc. affects things too. If the ball will feed to a hole location, less loft so more time rolling. If it feeds away, more loft.

Thank you.  I'm going to start paying attention to this sort of thing and planning my short game shots accordingly instead of just looking at yardage.
