Looking at Bettinardi Putters

I'm looking at a couple Bettinardi putters right now. I have long been a Ping fan and my tiny collection of putters includes: Ping 1-A, Ping A-Blade, Ping Anser (in the bag) and an older Odyssey Rossie 1 and a Rossie 2.

It's hard finding Bettinardi putters right now, since the Mizuno partnership is ending and Rob is going back to making putters without a major label partnership. I say, good for him. Nonetheless, I have tested out the C-02, C-01, and C-04 in the MizuBetti line-up. The C-02 is very much like my Anser, I believe. And to be sure, I am putting fairly well with that Anser - for right now. I am tempted to get the C-01 but it's similar to my Anser but with a longer plumber neck. In other words, I'm not sure how differently or better I will put with it.

However, the putter I thought I wouldn't like is the C-04. It looked a tad strange at first, but I seem to have a good feel with it. I didn't try it, but I see they also make a 34" inch heavy model. The Anser I am using has been cut from 35 to 34" and I would just assume not cut a new, nice putter if possible.

Does anyone have experience or preference regarding the C-01 or C-03? I have a fairly straight, back-and-forth stroke and I tend to place my Anser on an ever-so-slight angle behind the ball - preferring not to hold if completely upright and flat to the ground.

I just got the C-01 and I am really happy with it. The setup is great. If your stroke is consistent, the roll is consistent. The sound/feel coming off the face is not as "buttery" as some others I have hit, however, the setup and confidence I have with the putter makes up for that. If you have more specific questions let me know.

FYI...I have seen some websites selling these for $100 brand new.

So what is the opinion on the Black Carbon series vs the regular Mizuno line? I am not looking to spend a ton of money which is why I'm looking at the Mizunos.

The C-01 is a great putter. I had it for a while but ended up selling it because the 35" wasn't heavy enough. Other than the weight, which is more of a personal preference, it was excellent. I wasnt crazy about the stock Bettinardi grip that came with it though, and replaced it with a longer Iomic. I tend to grip my putter like Tiger and choke up a bit, and found I was almost grabbing steel with the Bettinardi grip.

Honestly I didn't mind it. If it weren't for the head weight I would have kept the putter. It just so happens that the heavier Studio Style and Byron Morgan 006 that I own have the shorter neck, but I would still play them if they had the longer neck. To me, it's a personal preference.

Thanks for all the input guys. I just placed an offer on a BC1. I will see if it it's accepted. If not, then I will probably go either C-01 or C-04.

I used the C01 it is a great blade.

Great feel, great distance.

However, I have never putted as well as I did after I switched to my Scotty Red X3 mallet.

The Black Carbons have a different face milling which is supposed to promote a truer roll.

You will love it! I wouldnt trade my Mizuno Bettinardi C-06 for ANY Cameron or Odyssey.

Thanks. I got it brand new for $120 from a very reputable seller. Should be here by next week. Also picked up a set of used irons today. MacGregor PCB Tours, 3-PW for $45!! I'm starting to become an equipment junkie. lol
