Kleraudio,

Time for golf mainly depends on you personal life schedule. If you found a "practice shed" in Colorado where you could hit balls every few days, maybe bounce down to Florida at Christmas, AND could play regularly during sunny weather, you might opt for more challenging clubs.

But, if you play 5 times in 14 days, and don't get to do it again for six weeks, it would be more difficult to keep your swing tuned.

And, if I ever find my "repeating swing" and get down to a single-digit handicap, I'll get back to you on this.

Focus, connect and follow through!

Nice post! So are you saying that if you live in a climate where there is a cold winter, where you can only play 7-8 months a year that you should get GI irons because you wont be able to play or practice for 4 months outta the year??

I live in the Denver Metro area, you will be able to play most of the year a bit chilly at times but not that much snow on the ground for long. I would also suggest Mizuno's great clubs

In My Ogio bag
Cleveland - 9.5 Hy Bore Driver
Cleveland - 3 & 5 Hybrids
Mizuno Cimaron Irons 3- PW (blades not CB)

Exactly what I wanted to hear! I thought that I would be snowed out of golf like I was in Chicago for like 5 months, Im glad that Denver is "golfable" pretty much year round!

Makes my decision soooo much easier to relocate! I knew I would miss my year round golf. My wife keeps telling me moving isnt only about golf .... She doesn't know any better You think the MP 57's would be alright then if I can continue to work on my swing even in the winter, with an 18 cap, not sure if these irons are too much for my game right now, but I want em soo bad!! Thanks man!

In my Ogio Blade Stand Bag:

TaylorMade Burner 10.5*

Adams Insight BUL 15*
Taylormade RBZ 3H

TaylorMade RBZ 4-AW

Vokey SM4 54-11

Take some time to try different shafts too - I moved from Titleist 690 CB's with DGTTS300 shafts to Titleist AP2's with ProjectX 5.5's and hated them.

Just had the ProjectX's pulled and S300's put in and makes amazing difference to distance, dispersion and shape.

Always thought about the shafts in driver and 3 wood - never irons.

Lesson learnt.
What I play:

Go to your local Mizuno dealer and get him to fit you.....borrow the 7 iron or 6 iron, whichever they have in you specs and take to the course. Substitue it in for your own when you have the shot and then work with it on the range some and see.

I can understand your desire to game this club. There is something about them that grabs you. I felt like Golem when he found the Ring....."My precious". I tried one out for a round and range session. My passion faded as I accepted the realization that I wasn't ready yet.......yet. There is hope in the future...but not this year or next.

Ping S57, S58, or S59. They are cast irons, but they are a players iron. You can shape shots and get some great forgiveness. Worth a look.

My vote would be Ping i15's

This years i's have reviews of being a LOT more workable than past i's.

They will give you the forgiveness BUT be VERY VERY workable...

    • I usually like to fix the face, first, as the path is most often the compensation for the open face rather than the other way around. If you could get some good down-the-line and face-on video in slow motion, it'd go a long way toward helping. It's tough to see the face and I think the face-on view would show that you're not turning as much as you could/should.
    • Day 86 (26 Jul 25) - Down at the beach place, had kept the clubs with me after playing yesterday.  Spent time this afternoon checking them over and brushing grooves on the wedges and irons.  Spent a few minutes working thru the swing process…working in slo mo through backswing and proper weight shift.
    • . I've been Playing Golf for: 10 years, 1 year consistently  My current handicap index or average score is: 100 My typical ball flight is: fade The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: inconsistent ball strike   I caught the bug about a year ago and have been playing roughly once a week. Have been getting better with my short game and putting but my ball striking from tee and fairway lets me down. Had my first lesson last month which identified an over the top swing compensated by an open club face. Have been trying everything to get on plane over the last month. Have found that using a bend and press into my left leg as the trigger for my downswing coupled with finding the turn and rotation in both my arms to release the club properly has helped my get nearer to the correct plane. Video below is where I am with it currently. Haven’t taken this new swing to the course yet! Any comments or suggestions are welcome  Videos:  I've been Playing Golf for: 1 year properly  My current handicap index or average score is: 100 av score
    • That's always been the deal. You put in the work hyper focused on ONE or at most two things, so that you don't have to think about anything except a single feel or the target or something on the course.
    • Blind squirrel finds a nut and putted well. no, I decided to play a round being athletic rather than paralyzing myself with swing thoughts. I have no clue if I was doing what I worked on. It was the last day and I was tired of freezing at the top of the swing not know if one of four outcomes were going to happen.
