How does your league work? How long is the season? How many people play? What games do you play? Is there a points system? Do you have tournaments? Is it handicapped/flighted/...? Do you play for cash/merch/credit? Is there a 'winner' at season's end? What are the costs? What is the best thing about your League? What would you add to your league schedule if you were asked? Etcetera... etc...

Our season goes from early May to our final outing in the second week of September. We had 70 registered golfers this year(down from 100 the previous year) in our work golf league. We play stroke play all the time(handicapped). We have fun nights with long drive, closest to the pin, etc with $10 prizes for each hole.

We are flighted by handicap. We have 4 flights. Standings are determined by average points. Say there are 24 people in your flight. If you shoot the best score, you get 23 points. Second gets 22 points and so on. Your total points are divided by your total rounds for your average, so you are not penalized if you miss a week. Then we have playoffs. You need to complete 10 rounds and 3 of the last 4 to be eligible for the playoffs. The first round is the flight playoffs. The top 4 play off. The winners of the 4 flights then play in the Grand Championship. We pay $90 to get into our league and that covers 18 holes w/cart at a local resort. http://www.grandtraverseresort.com/golf/index.cfm And also coveres door prizes and awards. $13 per week for greens fees. The regular season flight winners receive a nice plaque. The grand champion gets a trophy. There are also other awards, like a bag of sand(biggest improvement), and a trophy with a doll on the top for the league cry baby. We had about 15 golf clubs and a few rounds of golf as door prize awards.

    • Great year last year. Who winning this year could be another special story? Brooks? Spieth? Or Aberg? An AM? I dont know if anything could top last year
    • I love Rancho Park too!  I don't get out there much due to the 405 issues (Im in Santa Clarita) but I do try and get out there every now and then...last time out was in January where I eagled 17 (left green) with a holed 145 yard third shot ! Rancho is a great course! And at 24 bucks weekday with the city card, an absolute steal!
    • I have played PGA West, at least one or two courses in there, but I am not sure if I've played any of the courses used to host the Hope. I played a course that I think both isn't PGA West and is host to the Hope a few years ago, possibly at a TST outing, but I'm not sure if I'm thinking of the right one. I have played Rancho Park plenty of times (exactly half of my sub-80 rounds were there!) and Wilson/Harding.  Rancho Park might be my favorite golf course among those I've played more than a half dozen times.   Hopefully I'll get a chance to play TPC Scottsdale, maybe this August or September, and at some point I think there was a PGA Tour event in Las Vegas, I should get up there and play those course(s).
