Not sure if anyone else feels this way, but I feel I get some of my best practice sessions in on those nice days after the weather has already turned sour. After it's been in the 20's and 30's a bit and 50 degrees feels like 70 even when it's cloudy.

I feel like those days are just gifts from the golf Gods and when I'm at the range I'm less concerned with improving and just enjoying the chance. And I strike the ball very well.

I work on shots that I don't devote that much time to in the high season and I'm not worried about screwing up my swing for that weekend's rounds because they aren't coming. I think that if one were toying with the idea of a swing change this is a good opportunity to do it. You're almost playing with house money because you have the whole off season to let your natural swing slip back into muscle memory without even swinging the club and you can elude the swing limbo that can result from trying to change/play at the same time.

Not that there's that much substance to this thread, but I've had a few of these days in a row here and I'm psyched. So those others who are sucking the geographic hind-tit and can't play all year, do you feel the same way or do you see it different?

One good thing about going to the range when it's freezing out is that you focus on hitting the ball clean. When you don't hit a range rock clean, the mishit travels up the shaft to your hands. It's almost like electric shock treatment for misbehaving and gives new meaning to the word "stinger".

Well the "upside" to winter season practice for me is I get more of it. There is not enough light to get 9 holes in after work now, so I have to get my golf fix with practice. I go for a 1 hour short game routine these days. It helps my weekend scores allot.
