I Worked the Viking Pro-Am yesterday...

Daly is a notoriously good pro-am host, from what I hear. It's one of the few behavioral categories - if not the only one - on which Daly outshines many on the TOUR.

The latter may or may not be true. The former says a great deal about the guy. He may be this and he may be that as a golfer, but there's a reason he's a very popular fellow in the golfing world. He's earned it over the years.

The Pro's are not interacting with the Amateurs. What's the big deal playing with a pro who basically ignores you for 18 holes?

I've been to several tournaments, and most pros seemed friendly. Golf is not a team sport, thus, can attract the individualist/introvert/quiet type.

I can imagine the golfers were stressed with moving up the money list and irritated at the weather/course conditions. I played 18 holes the other day as a threesome. We noticed a very good and professionally dressed golfer, playing alone behind us. He caught up to us and played the last three holes with our group. Sure enough, it was a Nationwide Tour player. Was he the friendliest person I've met...no. The only time I heard him say anything, was to complain about the condition of the bunkers (its been raining a lot here in DFW also)
