Well today I was at the range, and I was extremely satisfied with my performance. My irons were straight down the pipe, and surprisingly my fairway wood was going 250. That's very strange for my senior flex piece of crap fairway wood.

But I'm feeling great right now, and I think it's because of the drills I tried today. When I first got there, I started with a foot drill, where I get to the top of the swing, and step into the ball. It really gives me a great feeling of my weight shift. Afterward as a good segway into the actual swing, I started another foot drill, but without a step.

I really enjoy that drill, I can experiment with how much power I have by how hard I step onto the proverbial "grapes". And as for short game drills, 3-6-9 is becoming a very important one. You must putt three balls in the hole from 3 feet, 3 balls from 6 feet, and then finally 3 from 9 feet. It is extremely hard, but it can really get your putting in shape.

I'm feeling so good right now, I think I'll post my swing just as a side note for any tips you may have.

So what are you favorite drills?

P.S.
I was looking for a bit more power, and I think it's coming from my lack of muscle, and I was wondering if you would recommend trying the P90X. My friend tried it and added 20-30 yards to his drives. What do you think about that?

Wow. You've got a great swing, lil' Bro! Don't worry about power...Wait on the growth spurt! lol.... Keep up the good work and please DO NOT take everything you hear on this site as God's word. Keep doing what you're doing..Obviously you have had some lessons and I would recommend you continue to do so....You've got a bright future...

As far as a work out schedule...help yourself. It's a good idea. Good luck.

Thanks! Actually I haven't had any lessons. I just don't want to spend the money for just an hour at a time. I'm considering having a few though.

    • A strong grip cups the wrist (lead) and then it wants to flatten through impact, something I used to be able to avoid to keep it from going left and protecting my forearm (the main premise of my set up). Longer the club, harder it is becoming. Either way, yes, I need to transition to gripping it open.
    • Why don't you grip it "open" so you can return your hand to the place where you're comfortable/not sore, but the ball won't go left? It's effectively weaker… without actually "being" weaker?
    • Day 47 - 2024-11-16 Light backswing work with about 3 or 4 rehearsals for every ball hit. Only about ten minutes while waiting for a potential member to show up (he was 25 minutes late). 😛
    • Idk but I would have to imagine that a putter that is aimed where you think it's aimed would be the most important aspect of a putter
