This question is for the one plane guys out there. My current focus is staying on the inner circle and holding my tush line. As you can see in the video below, I lose my tush line early on, but then hold onto the spot just a bit off the setup line.

Looking at what initially pulls me off my tush line, would you say that over rotating my hips is pulling me forward? It looks like I maintain the same line, but initially I get pulled off before my downswing even begins. Could it possibly be my initial setup that is causing the move before the downswing?

Any help is appreciated!

Yeah..you got a little reverse pivot thing going on there. But youre pulling the club way too far inside. In that little line you have through your hips, the hands or club should never be below it at any point during your swing. A taller, more upright posture might be a fix. I think we should be using as much of our height as we can.

First...I agree with DFBike that your posture would be better standing just a little taller. Some "slouch" in the upper body/shoulders/neck is fine but you are bent over a fair amount too much. I also agree that...the club HEAD is in too far when the club first gets parallel to the ground....that said...neither of those things is why the hip is pulling off the line. The culprit is the lead knee flexing too much and also flexing too far outwards towards the ball. That knee SHOULD flex and will move just outside the foot line but not near as far as yours does. Just lessen the flex and be sure it doesn't cross the toe line by much and you will be fine. It also wouldn't hurt for a while to simply make sure the hip feels like it winds up and back more to keep it on it's spot.

    • A strong grip cups the wrist (lead) and then it wants to flatten through impact, something I used to be able to avoid to keep it from going left and protecting my forearm (the main premise of my set up). Longer the club, harder it is becoming. Either way, yes, I need to transition to gripping it open.
    • Why don't you grip it "open" so you can return your hand to the place where you're comfortable/not sore, but the ball won't go left? It's effectively weaker… without actually "being" weaker?

    • Idk but I would have to imagine that a putter that is aimed where you think it's aimed would be the most important aspect of a putter
