Hi Recently i noticed that both my wrist will hurt after the first and second balls at the range, in addition they will hurt a little bit afterwards as well.

Has this happened to anyone else? Its also not unbarrable pain and like a dummy I continue to go and drive some balls just wanted to know if this is because my wrist are weak, or am I doing something I'm not suppose to be doing?

How's your grip pressure? Without seeing your swing, it's tough to say... but yeah, your wrists shouldn't hurt, you're right about that.

wrists no but shoulder yes. I have a baseball swing for my drive and in order to keep it from hooking I have to stop my follow through at 3/4's. I love the results but do very few practice swings because of it.

BTW my Irons are on normal swing plane. but it is hard to change a 275cyd drive with a slight draw.

I don't have a problem with my wrist or shoulder hurting. My golf swing is very fluid and smooth. There is no tension in my shoulders or hands, or wrist for that matter. This allows me to be fluent and free swinging throughout my backswing, point of impact and my release and follow through. Less tension means less pains in the body for me.

I think i grip the driver fairly hard, or maybe I'm getting tense right at impact. I know that i have my left hand twisted so i can see 3 to 3 1/2 knuckle's which helps me keep the ball low, otherwise I tend to hit high pop ups. (right handed)

Also it may be something I'm not doing in my swing and then I'm putting the pressure on my wrist.

I will try and video tape meyself next time at the range...(that will be funny) and see what I'm doing, or just buy a lession.

Sounds like you are swing a little too hard with the driver and maybe topping the ball hitting the bottom face of the driver head and probably need a lower tee or adjust your swing... Also you should not hit the driver more than 15 balls per range session, that would be too much work on your body.

Wow! I'm no pro - but that sounds like a very "strong" grip! I suppose we can't blame it on hitting too many balls because you say it happens on first or second ball.

Sounds to me like momentum is meeting resistance. Your painful areas being the resistance. So, your wrists may be trying to arrest the momentum of the club - lighten you grip pressure & let the club go where it wants - may not like the result for a while - but you should be pain free!

i will try a weaker grip, i was also going to stay away from the range for a little while this so i can work out a little bit and losen up my wrist. also with my wrist hurting on the first ball was probly because i was at the range two days before. And was having a good day. Driving the ball within 3 fence post i was aiming for within a 40 yard range, not bad for a rookie that just took a lession in late late may. An upgraded my old garage sale 1 wood with senior flex to a tm xd580

It sounds like you are not warming up enough before hitting balls. Hard to tell, actually but do a few more practice swings with two long clubs get those wrists ready before teeing up for real!
