Well done to Graeme McDowell for winning the Welsh Open @ The Celtic Manor Twenty Ten course.

I followed him today an he was amazing, gotta be in the Europe Ryder Cup team after the way he played that course today.

- 8 last round

Front = 343343235 30 Back = 244344435 33 total 63 (par 71)

Round1 = 72
Round2 = 70
Round3 = 64
Round4 = 63

Total -15

Well done GMac

P.S. Local Welsh boy Ryhs Davies came close with a final round 62 on -12 so I had a great day watching these guys live

I was watching it live on Golf Channel and was glued to the TV!

GMac was a worthy winner, but Davies was tearing the course apart, some of the putts he holed were unreal - I thought there was a 59 on the cards at one point.

I was watching it live on Golf Channel and was glued to the TV!

Yeah some of the cheers that went up around the course when Davies holed out were unreal, the biggest when he dropped the put for eagle on 15

I would have followed him but he only had 4 holes left and Gmac was on 10 so we followed him for the last 8.

Europe's going to have a great team this year.

Westwood, Poulter, Rory, McDowell, Jiminez, Quiros and even Justin Rose is getting back into form.

Harrington is getting better too.

As promissed here are a few pics, crap quality as taken on camera phone and they were moving on most shots, as you can see the weather here in Wales was closing in at the end of the round and the wind picked up too making Gmac's last 3 holes play longer as wind was towards them.

The white footbridge in the background of Pics 1, 2 & 3 is the brand new £2 million bridge over the river to ferry the players to the Ryder Cup Practice groud

    • Day 29 (9 Dec 25) - PW dink and rolls as well as low flighted chips.  Dink and rolls - set up with club head toe down/heel up to promote low flight, plenty of roll out.  Low flighted pitches - club flat on the ground to get ball up a Rick more and check more.   No more than 10yds total distance - focus on getting the ball to finish near (within 10’ dia circle) the target “pin”…
    • Never play with him again, and make sure every time you see him (especially when he's with other people) bring it up as a joke. Everyone will laugh but him. If he wants to ruin his own reputation, let him. 
    • Only ever used ShipSticks and never had a problem. It's really nice because you can ship to anywhere not just courses.  No matter what you use, I take the extra care of the clubs and wrap them in something before putting them in your bag and into the shipping box.   
    • Practicing my putting after work. I put five balls on the carpet and a mug on the other side. Once I make 3 out of 5 I can stop. If I leave any short or they go to far and fall off the rug, I restart.  Focusing on speed and hitting my mark 3 inches in front of me. Trying to gain consistency and discipline in all aspects of my putting game.
