Practice balls

So I've been hearing about these foam practice balls that behave like real balls but they fly much shorter. Do the plastic practice balls behave in the same way?

I bought a box of "Almost Golf" practice balls from Golf Galaxy last year for my son to hit around the yard. I've hit them a hand full of times, but my yard is too small for a full swing with just about any club. I did take a few out in the front yard last year and I was hitting them over the house with a LW. Ball flight seemed pretty realistic, but the wind/breeze has a larger effect. I can't speak to plastic balls.

You could also try the Floppy, a set of 4 balls for $12 or so that you can basically hit indoors or out. They fly longer and purer than the whiffle type balls, but not as long as regular balls... plus it won't damage anything by hitting it (hitting and knocking over is a different story) since it's basically like a hacky-sack type filled "ball" that's squishy with a hand-woven outer "shell", yet still reacts to a club hit nicely. I've only had one session of knocking it around with my wedge and 9i up against a garage wall maybe 5 feet away, but I felt like it helped me practice my swing.

I found them online. I think they're more toward $16 or $20 + shipping right from the source, but Amazon has them for $12 and change. You'll have to pay shipping on top of that unless you pick up something else to make up $25, though.
