I have been golfing for around 2 years now and am looking to replace my irons I currently have. I started out playing with Mizuno T-Zoid Pro II irons and am worried that due to them being blade irons, I am not playing to my full potential. I am still not very good and am currently taking lessons as well.

I feel like I should replace these irons with a cavity back set, but I am not sure which irons to get. I am on quite a limited budget and can only afford to spend around 200 dollars. I'm not sure if I will even be able to find anything for this price, or if I should just stick it out with my current blade irons and deal with inconsistency until I can improve my swing. Thanks for any feedback.

some pretty good sets out there for 200 dollars on ebay.....

Personally, I'd stick to what you have and save up a bit more.

I am planning to join my high school golf team when the season starts in about a month, which is the reason that I was wondering if I should replace them before then. It will be the first year that I have played competitively at all. I can probably deal with them for one more year and get a nicer set though.

Maybe try a used Mizuno cavity back set. You wouldn't be giving up that forged feel, but you would be getting a lot of playability.

In my bag:

Driver: Titleist TSi3 | 15º 3-Wood: Ping G410 | 17º 2-Hybrid: Ping G410 | 19º 3-Iron: TaylorMade GAPR Lo |4-PW Irons: Nike VR Pro Combo | 54º SW, 60º LW: Titleist Vokey SM8 | Putter: Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas H7

The OP is a 36 and describes himself as "not very good." I'd venture to say he may be more interested in hitting GIRs and minimizing his misses than he is in the "buttery feel" of a blade.

For $200, you can pick up several excellent sets of improvements clubs. Here is just one example: http://cgi.ebay.com/Cleveland-CG-Gol...#ht_500wt_1154

In the Bag: TaylorMade R11 TP - TaylorMade R7 TP TS - Cleveland Halo - TM TP 2009 3-PW - Vokey SM 52 - Vokey SM 60 - Rife Barbados CS - ProV1x
