Arrived at the course at 10 am expecting to walk on but found that they were having a benefit scramble that probably wouldn't end until 1:30. i practiced chipping and putting on the practice green which is adjacant to the 9th green and 10th tee. After watching 6 groups make the turn I felt much better about my game. Anyway, I left and came back near 2 pm and walked right on , but ran up on a foursome on 3 that was SLOW. I asked the single behind me if he wanted to play together, and I'm glad I did. Nicest fella, that hit the ball well and played with a purpose and without wasted motion. To top it off he is a walker, who plays it down which I dig as I really despise people fluffing their lies and writing down 5 when they really have a 7. I didn't ask, but I took him for a 7-10 index. The only thing I did better than him was chip and putt. I gotta say, that although my game is nowhere near good, the last three groups I've been paired with have been slow, cheating hacks who take 2 mulligans if needed and fluff their lies or don't count their duffed shots. Anyway, I shot a 90 not exactly good, but I had 4 stroke and distance penalties on tee shots. which is essentially 8 strokes + two 3 putts. Take these away and I'm under 80. I definitely need more practice with the long clubs, although only 1 of the stroke and distance penalties was with the driver. 2 were with the 2h one a push right on a very tight par 4 (should've hit a 5i) and the other a duck hook OB on 18. The other was a hugely fatted 8i that didn't go 80 yards and into water in front of #12 a 165 yard par 3 (was playing more like 145 today).

I count today as a victory as I may have a new playing partner. Something I haven't had since I started playing seriously last year.

    • Day 313 - I played 18 today. First and last holes were ugly, but I actually played pretty well. Driver was great, irons were alright, and the short game was better than average.
    • Day 205 (23 Nov 24) - Worked with the alignment rod and 7i  in reference to ball position in relation to lead foot on full iron shots, noticed an increase in thinned shots last couple of rounds - better contact with the balls (hard foam) during the drill/swing rehearsals.
    • Have you gone to a fitting? A good fitting will not only give you a clubhead but a shaft, etc. that will suit you.
    • It's not like the Nike Vapor Pro are exactly a highly sought set of irons.
    • Last night I was putting my Nike Vapor Pro Irons back in my bag.  I had my sons i500’s in there the last couple months after we all went to Top Golf .  I picked up the Nike’s this past spring and they are like new.  I feel guilty using them… I have other irons that aren’t valuable that I could use instead.
