some new swings videos...
having problems with too flat of a shoulder plane in the downswing
even though i come from the inside, the flat shoulder plane leads to an open face leading to blocks or flip hooks
any advice? if you look at hiroshi iwata's swing i posted you can see that his shoulder plane is vertical after impact
Well, the lessons are paying off.
I was not able to finish the round due to rain, but I was only +3 thru 7. I had a bad 8 and the rain started at 9. I did not tee off with anything longer than a 7i, so I know I have room for improvement, but things are going well! I ended with a 46 on the front (+10)
I've been concentrating on getting to a better impact position (better shaft lean and hands in front of me). I feel like I've made a little progress but not all the way there. I really feel like I need to concentrate on felling my hands going at the target toward impact to get full extension. The problem is this often leads to me coming over the top when I try to do this. Does anyone have any drills I could work on to specifically work on this?
Here's a video I found of my swing from June of last year before I got serious about swing changes. I know it's pretty bad but I feel like I actually get to a better impact position here. Maybe because I have all lateral movement and no shoulder turn? Could I have too much shoulder turn currently?
i've been invited to play in a Member/Guest tournament in September (as the Guest). from what i've been told, nearly everyone in the field has music going throughout the round. currently, i'm putting together a playlist for each day:
Thursday (2 man Scramble): old school metal...Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax
Friday (2 man Best Ball): rap...Eminem, Wu Tang Clan, Dr. Dre, NWA, Too Short
Saturday (Individual Stroke Play): Irish drinking songs...Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, The Rumjacks, The Pogues, The Skels, Young Dubliners
can't wait.
