What do you think of OS (oversized) clubs ? Will they be good for amateur golfer, or i should buy normal blades ? I've read on many forums that OS are better for amateurs because of larger clubhead, and because of that easier shots, but maybe i should go straight to blades and just spend lots of time by practising ?

Thanks for any advices ;)

P.S this is one of my first posts so please correct any of my mistakes ;)

P.S #2 and sorry for bad topic ( the "technique" word)

I think oversize are for those that can't hit the ball with anything else.

Definitely not for you if that's your picture. Buy used and make a split set. Blades for the short irons and game improvement for the mid and long irons. Work your way into blades on the mid irons to keep frustration at a bearable level.

All cavity backs - too many too list, just stay away from the ones with really big faces or that look like a mini-hybrid (sausage)

This link will get you started.

Titlist AP1 for 4-6-7

Blades 8- and up  (Hogan Radials or Directors if you can find them)

Other's will recommend something completely different.

So study Maltby!

I think the only way to buy that set is to buy club by club ( im in poland, golfing here is not that popular, only few shops across the whole country), but that will end with spending too way too much money :/ But i will try, thanks for help :)

EDIT: And will Titleist AP2 be good instead of AP1 ? 'Cuz i found only the ap2

AP2's are good too. Your question is like "Help me find a car."  There are so many to choose from.

What you need to do is go to where you can hit different clubs.

For blades - the older ones are dirt cheap in the USA. Especially on E-bay.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
