recently bought a driver with a crappy made for shaft and tour edge was going to reshaft the club with the new Aldila RIP Sigma thats in the CB4 Tour driver. i know its in the titleist 910 driver.

any opinions on its performance? is it worth the same as a beta, gamma, alpha shaft? or is it just another made-for?

tour edge says they can reshaft it for 40 bucks...seem too good to be true for a true aldila RIP

The RIP is not a "made for" but I don't know much about the Sigma's performance

Only reason I was a little weary of its quality was because they don't offer it on the aldila website...and I feel if they wanted to make a "made for" without confusing it with another one of their quality alphas, gammas, or betas was to make an entirely new shaft...im not saying it's made for but I cant seem to find it anywhere other than titleist 910s exotics cb4s and probly adams or cobra..not even reviews

You know, I could be wrong here.  Here are a few pics.  If it's not on the Aldila website, it's probably something like the Serrano shaft Aldila made for Ping.  I'd call Aldila and find out.

i only ask because the stock shaft is very numb and probly made cheap. i also believe that it not only kicks low but spins more than it should considering the clubhead is designed for low spin and side-to-side control.

i was recently in florida for thanksgiving and finally got to play after maybe a month and a half. (Pennsylvania is brutal on a golfer this time of the year) i noticed i was hitting the ball incredibly high and it seemed like it was getting held up by wind opposed to boring through it. I was hitting barely 200-220 yards consistently even when i felt like i crushed it. my consistency in terms of control has gone down now that my swing is getting a bit more strong. I think the flex (Reg) is actually hurting not only my distance but my accuracy. I'm not sure whether id want a mid kickpoint regular flex or just a mid kick stiff. i know the RIP is at the top of the lot in terms of driver shafts but i dont know about the Sigma. plus, if i were to get a rip im unsure of what flex id play in.

i intend on getting a print out soon to get the right shaft...im just unsure of buying the RIP sigma.

    • The courses played +3.2 relative to par on the first day.  That is why Rory's and Cantlay's strokes gained were +8.2 better than average. They played stupidly good on a very tough test. It happens. Some people can have one day of good golf. There are 4 rounds. just for some perspective and to put some FACTS behind what you said.  The Memorial played +1.5 relative to par. So the first round of The US Open played 2x as hard as the Memorial did.  The Masters played +1.91 relative to par.  The RBC played +0.29 relative to par. The Charles Swab played +0.82 relative to par.  If that continues it would be the toughest test of golf by like 1.3 strokes. Nearly 68% tougher.
