I just recently bought a wood shafted golf club when my family went antique shoping.  So i am trying to find out some more information on it.  Some of the markings on the head are no-sum niblick also S.M. right next to that there is a L inside of a circle, right below that it says REG. U.S Pat. OFF.  The shaft looks to be hickory and a leather grip.  So if any one out there knows a little about this club i would apprieciate some information on it.

Also, Google "hickory and golf" and you'll find several additional sites. People here and there in the USA get together for hickory-shaft tournaments on occasion.
