I have a set of eight TT Lite XL iron shafts which are R/S flex. What I am trying to do is tip trim them closer to an A-Flex. True Temper's instructions for an R-Flex say cut 2 inches off the tip for a #3 iron.

My question is would cutting off only 1 inch instead of the recommended 2 inches bring it near an A-Flex or should I cut off only 1/2 inch or 1 1/2 inches for the #3 iron? If so, then should I cut each higher numbered iron by the same amount (example: #4 iron cut only 1 1/2 inches instead of 2 1/2 inches and so on)?

I do not own a frequency analyzer machine to do it properly, so this is why I am asking this question.

Many thanks for your suggestions and/or input.

Can anyone suggest tip trimming guidelines for these TT XL R-flex shafts to get them as close as possible to an A-flex?
