I have started again this year for about a month.

I have picked up an annoying habit of putting to the right. Any ideas what might be causing this?

(I have the same putter as last year.)

As simple as it may sound, face contributes to 96% of the start direction, so make sure you're not aiming right.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

What do you mean by face? Is this the angle of the head of the putter? Is this the angle of my shoulders? Or is it the position of my head?

This is such an annoying habbit. I was on the practice green again today for a couple of hours and they all headed right. It is so weird. My putting average for a full round has gone up 5 shots (on a round) since last year probably since I can guarantee none of my mid/long putts will drop.

Thanks for the reply again mvmac.

Check your grip pressure too, when you grip your putter too tight you will have a tendency to miss right. I was missing a number of putts to the right last year and realized I had too much grip pressure, as soon as I lightened it up to my normal pressure I was able to square the club face at contact. Also, check ball position, if it's too far back if you have an arcing stroke you are hitting it too early so the putter face doesn't have a chance to square up within your putting arc.

The face of the club head, if your putter had an insert it would be on the face
