Scenario:
1.  PERFECT GREENS
2.  TOTAL CONCENTRATION
3.  LADY WITH PERFECT STROKE
4.  MODERN GOLF BALL WITH DIMPLES DESIGNED FOR MAXIMUM AIR TIME (ie: large )
5.  Ball placed on spot with a large dimple slighty askew to the line of the putt.
6.  In comes perfect stroke,  ball struck on edge of dimple,  ball auto adjusts orientation, then struck.
7.  Ball goes crooked.
8.  Player goes baffeled then beserk.
Proof of theory:
Attempt setting a golf ball down on a dot on a dead level and smooth surface.  Only if you place the ball, with the RIM of the down dimple parallel with the receiving surface will you be successful.
The above from a person who was unfortunate enough to find his life passion in the game of golf,  amputated leg, went on with life, finally at Hilton Head 1977 Seniors PGA became the first amputee to qualify on Monday and make the field.  Got a check for $ 1800.
