i seem to be progressing pretty quickly at golf.

been playing for 2 years now with handicap of 12.4, which is falling quick and hope to be single figures this summer.

i have a problem with my driver. I hit it really well, and by that i mean i hit it square and straight. problem is, in the last few weeks i seem to be hitting it very very high which is losing me distance. even if i tee the ball really low, i catch it perfectly but ball still has a very high parachute flight to it.

could this be the flex of the shaft, the kick point, loft or all 3??

any advice would be great before i go and pend £350 on a new driver.

thanks in advance

I'm no expert but one possibility is that you're tilting your spine too much away from the target (i.e. overdoing it a tad, upper body too far right for a right hander). I used to hit my drives too low until I tilted more but too much isn't good either. Either that or you're hitting nothing but moon balls ...:-P Nice going with your game btw but be ready to be a bit patient if the pace of progress slows a tad.

It was a combination of loft and flex. It appears I have progressed from a regular flex shaft and 10.5 degree loft. Got fitted for a new driver yesterday. Now have a 9 degree stiff. Problem solved, hitting it well;-)
