in consecutive cuts made with 17 after the top 3 of Steve Stricker (49), Gary Woodland (22) and Webb Simpson (18) all missed the cut.  Kuchar had been t4 with Hunter Mahon, current Fed Ex #1, who also missed the cut.

How about Stricker's 49?  That is more impressive, really.

And since he missed the cut, it looks like I won't be winning any Mizuno irons....

49 by Stricker was really impressive, but it shows how good the tour is top to bottom and how tough it is to play good all the time that nobody has more than 17 currently.  Everyone thinks Tiger is playing terrible when he misses the cut by a shot, but Rory missed by more than that this week.

With his win this week it looks like Kuchar will be #5 this week in the OWGR (up from #17), just behind Bubba and ahead of Mahan.  Fowler looks to be moving from #23 to #17, between Dustin Johnson and Bill Haas.

Who do you think is the best American player currently?
