I have one Vokey 54-11 and one 588 60-8 you cannot go wrong with either. I bought the Vokey because I use the 54 for 100 yards and, in as well as for bunker shots and I like the extra weight for those circumstances but the lighter 588 is better for me around the greens.

Bump...

I have 3 wedges in my bag:

50* , 8* bounce - Cleveland 588 Forged, Black Pearl

56* , 10* bounce - Cleveland 588 Forged, Black Pearl

60* , 10* bounce - Vokey SM4, standard finish

IMO the 588 Forged is much better for your game.  The other comments made on the thread sum it up - better swing weight, better head with amazing turf interaction , and less mishits overall.  Grooves IMO don't matter as much as how much spin you can put on the ball and where you place it on the green, but if I had to say I'd vote for the CG zip grooves as well.

Try both, especially on grass.  It'll make a difference on the tight lies, when you have 80-90 yards to the pin and you're lying in the middle of the fairway.  You'll know you made the right decision the way the forged 588 clips the turf perfectly and puts itself right in that perfect pendulum.  The Vokey will seem to swing lighter and the much thicker sole will be more conducive to bladed or nuked wedge shots.

I keep the Vokey in my bag because it's good out of the sand and I love using it out of the rough for flops around the green, over traps, water, etc...I can still pick it cleanly from the fairway, but only after a lot of practice.  It's still a great wedge, but I never understood the benefits of owning a forged club until i got the 588s - my first forged clubs ever.

From the second I started using the Forged 588s, I haven't hit a bad shot with them and they've saved me a good 5 shots a round.

By now you've probably already made the right decision and gone with the 588s, but consider this a bump for newer readers.

I could play with either wedge. I was a loyal 588 guy back in the day then switched to Vokey. I am currently playing the TVD model in 54-60. I gave my 588s to my brother who can hit the 60 15 feet off the ground from 60 yards and can one hop and spin it. To each his own, pick the one that you perform for you the best.

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
