Perhaps I'm playing more golf than before, which I am, but my arms and elbows have been very sore after I play which last for a few days.  I'm thinking the shafts I play might have something to do with it (XP S300).

Would I get some benefit, physically, from switching to graphite?  I'm not worried about swing speed, just perhaps something that might be easier on my arms and elbows..

I think they would benefit you.  The graphite shafts will have a softer feel for you, and make the ball go a little higher.  It would probably be a little easier for your hands and elbows as well.

I switched from Steel to Graphite and it has helped me tremendously, especially in the wrists and hands.  It probably helps the elbows and shoulders too due to a generally lighter swingweight.

Your swing and ball flight will change, but not because you changed to Graphite.  I think the Old school thought is that Graphite will make you hit higher and will generally be "whippier", but that just isn't the case.  There is just too much variation in Graphite shafts to make any general statements about how your game will be affected.

If you are comtemplating changing to Graphite for physical reasons (which I did), you should take the time to have someone look at/analyze your swing and tell you what you should change to in a graphite.
