Greetings ....

Let me extend my congratulations to Brian Bateman on a very nice win at the 2007 Buick Open.

I for one appreciated the fact that we had a winning score in the mid-270's on a par-72 course, and that so many different players were all "right there" for much of the final nine.

Let's hear it also for Jason Gore, Justin Leonard and Steve Elkington, who each had great finishes for the first time in a while.

2007 Buick Open Final Scores and Earnings from YAHOO!

Only a $4.9-million purse after a run of several $6.0 million-or-more events, with the $6.0-million AT&T; National to follow? Hmmmm!

Thanx-A-Lot, Frank-0-Sport

Yahoo seems to have taken that link down already. But there are lots of other good writeups, like at pgatour.com, etc. ( http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/r...lts/index.html )

BTW, what in the world happened to Pernice?? 70-67-66- 75 ? From 54 hole leader to T(20) in one round. Jeez, even O'Hair feels bad for him.
