One of the reasons that I have stopped golf for a long time was due to a relocation to a new place and then followed by a reoccurring slip disc.

But according to my orthopaedic surgeon, the reasons for my slip disc was firstly, hereditary, and secondly, a lack of exercise to strengthen my back. The prescribed remedy was to walk, cycle and swim a lot coupled with physiotherapy.

I have mostly recovered now and is keen to get back to playing golf but is worried that my back could not hold up and that is affecting my confidence in the driving range. I don't even hit 60% now and you can understand how frustrated I was to see my driver going 150m and rolled another 20m if I was lucky. Although from a ball striking point of view it is doing me a lot of good now that I no longer focus on smacking the ball down the fairway but concentrated on hitting it sweet.

I will like to ask if any of you guys had the same problem like I have. How do you manage your back in this circumstances? For eg, warm up exercises, stretches, intensity of practise. How do you know if you are ready for a full shoulder turn?
