I'm getting a new driver I'm thinking of getting the 913. What are the main differences? can you recommend a aftermarket shaft and where would I get an adapter. Thank you

Go to their website, they detail the differences. For me, one just has higher MOI because its a bigger golf club.

If you're a 15 handicapper you might be better suited for something else IMO. If you're set on a 913, definitely get the larger, more forgiving D2.

I'm a 4 handicapper who went to a D2 earlier this year. I'm a high ball hitter so I have a 8.5 degree driver that is surefit down to 7.75 and the heavy mitsubishi shaft (black w/ the flowers in photos).

What are you trying to achieve by making the switch? What is your current ballflight shape? Do you want to launch it higher or lower? Work it left or right?

There's a reason why other brands are much more popular than Titleist for higher handicappers like yourself, but hit a simulator or a launch monitor and get tinkering. Good luck!

D2 & D3 are nearly identical, except for the face size. This would lead to a lower MOI for D3, but its more of a cosmetic thing. I personally like smaller looking golf heads, just brings in more focus for me.

Actually reason why more brands are popular for amateurs is Price, and how the company advertizes. Titleist always has driven more towards better players. Also they are more expensive clubs. This will place them away from most amateurs. While a company like Taylormade, brings in the broad spectrum approach and goes after all golfers. Does this mean that Titleist isn't a good choice for higher handicappers, nope.

As for a driver, i believe in adjustibility, and what ever looks good to the golfer at address. Never over ride confidence.

    • They sure do. 158 with an 8 iron is on the high end for me
    • Went back to controlling my knees. That part was getting a bit sloppy when I worked on my backswing. Right hip didn't slide or gain internal rotation. I would just rotate back and around and the left knee would be in a bad spot. Really focusing now on keeping my left knee very stable and straighter in the backswing. I can't go back to the old pattern of overturning the hips. I was returning to my old pattern to time my downswing. Turn forever.  Left knee controls both knees and hips, acting as an anchor. Feel like it straightens a bit.   Hinge sooner and faster. Not in a way that sends the hands out and flips the club over. I still noticed when the hands get to A2.5, the hands would want to flip over and flatten the club out a ton.  Still trying to figure out how to roll the forearms a bit open and not just roll the club inside a ton.  Figure out the timing to get the hands down. Still getting a bit of right elbow collapsing in the downswing because the arms are too high when I turn. Everything is happening sooner now. If the hips are controlled, the backswing is shortened. Because it is shortened I don't know when to get the hands down and I just turn because the downswing is a go.  Very slow (50%) swings are decent.
