I just moved to Seattle, WA (from Southern California) and I've been wanting to get into golf for years. I feel now is the time to do it. I'm planning on taking some basic lessons and picking up a reasonably priced but decent set of clubs to get started. Hopefully we have some good courses out here that I can play. Any tips for a new player would be great. I've only done a little bit at a driving range years ago, and some minigolf. I've always been attracted to the game for many reasons. I was glad to find such a nice forum on the subject!

I golf down here in Tacoma. There are a butt load of golf courses in the Puget Sound area. You'll have no problem finding one to your liking.
