hello - why isn't there more tour edge fitters? I live in md and I noticed over the last couple of Years that tour edge is dropping of the map. I have owned a few tour edge products: bazooka 10.5 driver = ok. no real pop off the face but got me streight, I replaced this club with a r11 for distance, then replaced the r11 with a xhot 10.5 driver which got the ball up higher for me but less distance. my xhot vs bazooka driver, xhot a few more yards and more pop of the face. bazooka 3 w. not bad but I used this club in my 2nd year of playing and never gave it a chance, I replaced the bazooka with a higher lofted callaway diablo 3 w that worked wonders for me same second year of golfing, i now game a 4 wood xhot that is real nice. bazooka 7 w. this club is my f- ing hammer, this club is my go to it has never left my bag. when I hit it wrong, bad, good, great, I can tell you excactley where the face and the ball met. with this club I can tell what I did with my swing, I can feel if if the face is open closed, forced shut or pushed open. now that i am getting my score down from the high mid 90's into the high mid 80's using my swing I am starting to wish I had more chances to try more clubs like my 7 w, I'm in my 4th year, I'm shooting in the 80's, I got my irons pretty good with ping g20s,. but I'm feeling like I could improve more if I could get all my clubs working like my 7w. any suggestions? is it the shaft? face? what do I need to do to find clubs that match my 7w? Tour Edge operates out of the suburbs of Chicago, and has its best presence in the Midwest. Check out the TE website, look under fitters and plug in your ZIP code to find one.

In Maryland, try out Arundel Golf Park in Glen Burnie.

Note: Not all dealers are fitters.

I played a TE Bazooka 3W and 5W from 2002 to 2008 with good success. I stopped using them when I went from stiff to regular shafts. Used other FWs until this spring, and had iffy results.

In May, I bought a TE Exotics XRail 4W and 7W, and am having much better performance from fairway woods.

As for your overall game, you might get a fitting for your long clubs - this can help you find the best head + shaft combo

    • Day 27 - 2026-01-16 Played 18 with some of the usual "too many voices" going on when I'm working on swing stuff. Fun to get out in great bay area winter weather.
    • I know one recent college grad who's trying the same thing.  This guy was a Division III All-American, went on to play one year at Division I LSU, and is not working hard.  He won the Gulf States Open, a pro event, and made it to the second stage of the Korn Ferry Tour School late in the fall.  And didn't make the cut to get to the final stage.  I won't talk about swing or play stuff, but I believe there are a couple of things that are essential.  Obviously, talent, and drive, or work ethic.   I can't tell you how to do it, but you HAVE to get through it.  Golf is going to be your life, and it takes lots of work. Two more things that are really critical.  You'll need the facility to be able to practice.  My young friend stayed in Baton Rouge, as a past player on the team he can still use the LSU practice facilities.  And money.  Its unlikely you'll be able to work a full-time job and practice the way you will need to.  You'll probably need backing, from a parent, from a consortium of friends or club members., something to support you. Good luck, its not an easy path, but anything is possible.  Another young man from our area, Mike Brennan, just won for the first time on the "big" PGA Tour.
    • No one in the world is as smart as Phil thinks he is.
    • Get more comfortable with being uncomfortable. If you don’t like practicing then give up now. You don’t have the passion to become a pro. Unless that mentality changes you won’t do well under stressful situations.    Call the PGA Tour and ask. They probably have resources available.
