Fantasy Football League for the Sand Trap

Here is a quick update of the season standings in the Sand Trap Fantasy Footbal League. Each team owner picked a division from the NFL and made up their team from players in that division only. It has been a pretty competetive season. After the first 4 weeks here are the standings. It's still pretty close and it will start to get real interesting now that the bye weeks are hitting.

Thanks to everyone that joined the first annual Sand Trap Fantasy Football league. I hope you enjoyed it. I will do another one next year. We can do the same style with each team having a whole division to make teams from, or we can do a regular style with an open draft and no defensive players. Give me some feedback for future reference.

Final results: The NFC West, managed by Dandaman absolutely destroyed the NFC North, managed by, uh...oh yeah...Jeepthrills.

Kind of lucky really. Jeepthrills was crushing everyone up to the end. I guess i did have a 2005 pittsburgh steeleresque run at the end. Had to win the last one to make the playoffs and somehow found a way to win with the NFC West team.

Very interesting way of playing fantasy football. Count me in for next year!

Yeah, me too. I had a good run for uh...about four weeks. Then I lost about six in a row, and it was all downhill from there.

The hardest part is finding the time to make the roster moves week to week. Especially when you have teams with byes. When I first did a league like this with defensive players, I printed out my roster before a bye week. That way I could go back and put my regulars back in the line up for the following week. It's the defensive players that really make or break this type of league. Everyone will end up +/- 10 to 20 points of each other with the offensive players and a team D.

That's why I like to do this type by division. Otherwise it is way too hard to have enough subs to field a team when you have byes.

The NFL Season is right around the corner. If everyone is interested, I will put together the Sand Trap League again. Last year we did one by divisions and also used defensive players. I was thinking about doing two leagues this year. One custom one like last year and the other a more traditional one with an auto pick draft. The first is limited to 8 teams. I am taking the NFC North again. The other can have 10 teams. It will be a standard league with no defensive players. Send me a PM if you are interested and which league you want to play in. If you want in the custom one, let me know which division you want.

With the career change I have been insanely busy and have not been here much. There are a few guys who were interested in a divisional league. Obviously we need to start next week since the NFC East has already played, but it's not too late. Send me a PM this weekend and I will get you in.
