Occasional golfer now a member who plays twice a month on average, but looking to golf once or twice a week in better weather.

I don't have a handicap yet.

My ball flight is low I struggle to get height on my shots.

Tee shot, I can't use any kind of wood. I use a 6 or 7 iron from the tee. I sometimes hook the ball left aswell

Yes, or unlisted if you have that option.

You look athletic enough, the first advice would be to take a look at the very big posture thread on the site.. Sorry I can't link it from my iPhone. The second thing is for you to turn your right hip back and up, feel like you are losing flexsion in your right knee was if your right leg will be straight at the top of your backswing.. There are many other things I'm sure, but maybe this will help a little bit.. If you post a face on view that will be really helpful too.. Good luck

Thank you pal. I weight train and sometimes wonder if this is a disadvantage to me golf wise??? Noticed straight away that I was bending down on my swing. Thank you for your tips I will def look into what you have posted. Thank you for taking the time to look at my swing. I will also try and get a face on view video. Cheers

No problem, no if anything your posture is too straight up, there is probably not enough bend specifically in the upper back area.. The reason you bend down is because your body needs to compensate quickly for your incorrect posture.. Once you take a look at the posture thread you will get what I mean.. It just takes time, I probably spent two weeks just working on making sure I get in the correct posture and still probably revert back sometime.. It takes work but doable!

I can't find the very big posture thread. I will def work on what you are saying tho

Yeah, your posture looks a little off (like people mentioned before on here). It also seems like your swing plane is off quite a bit. Have you gone to get golf lessons? If not, you should definitely go once. I went once last year and it helped me out so much. I had horrible posture and my swing plane looked atrocious. Now I'm pretty consistent with all my irons and throwing darts at the flag. Although I'm still slicing my driver and I'm a little inconsistent with my 3 wood and hybrid.

But definitely go get some lessons, your golf score will thank you.

I posted a video of my swing up and took on board the tips some of the guys gave me. I shot 119 in my previous round. I went out for a round yesterday with some work colleagues who are far better than me and tried to work on my posture and shot a round of 112. I played ok apart from three 9s which ruined my card. My main problem is off the tee. Only good tee shot I hit all day was on the 18th lol typical. Inconsistency and getting height in my shots are still a major issue. Thank you too the guys who took time and had a look at my swing ;)

You're welcome.

Keep at it. Effective practice takes time, but is also often something you can do in a few minutes a day in a mirror.

I think it will be a long and hard road for me to get to the level of golf I want too, but I am up for it  ;)
