I've been Playing Golf for: 6 years

My current handicap index or average score is: 20

My typical ball flight is: Draw

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Hook

Hi,

I do not have a video, but I am interested in learning what others do to make sure the face is square at the top of the back swing. I am working with my pro on this and compensating with the face at address to make up for the closed face at the top. Any tips to ensure face is square at the top?

Relative to your target, where does your golf ball start? Left? Right? Straight at it?

You're a right-handed player, correct?

I am a right- handed player. The ball typically starts out straight but my miss is a hook.

If the ball starts relatively straight, then the clubface is in a pretty good position at impact (relatively square to the target).

The ball starts roughly in the direction of the face and curves away from the path.

If your clubface is pointing at the target, the ball will start there, then if the path is too far to the right, the ball will hook.

In other words, you may not have a clubface issue at all - it may be your swing path.
