Hello and Merry Chrismas,

My dad bought a set of old clubs at a local consignment store a few years back for $25.  Just wanting some more information.

Description;

Ram Tour RT70 irons 2-PW

Ram Tour persimmon woods  1,3,4, and 5

Ram blade putter.

The irons and and woods are matched #'s set.

All clubs still have original Ram grips with the cool looking Ram logo and red grip alignment indicator.  Grips are still very nice.

The blades are in nice condition.  Most of them

still have the black in the grooves on face.  Hosels are good, just a few light scuff marks, scratches, play marks on irons.  No rust.

Woods are nice.   Finish is really quite good, some very light scuffs and scratches to finish.  One chip on top of 5 wood near hosel.

Also a Ram leather bag and pull cart.

I am just trying to gather more information on these clubs.  The more I look, I think dad stumbled into one heck of a deal on some vintage clubs.

Let me know what you think.

Nothing special here. Looks like an average department store set of Ram clubs from the 1960's. The professional stuff was under the Golden Ram line. Looking at my old Golf Club Identification and Price Guide, a used set of the irons were worth about $25  back then. Probably not worth any more today.

Well, that's odd.   I have been watching the interweb for three to four years for sets similar and have seen partial sets of these irons sell for over $100.  Have seen single RT70 irons sell for $22.00-$25.00 a piece.  So..

Have been offered anywhere from $250 - $400 for the set in the last year or so.  Not really looking to sell.

And I have never seen a set of woods and irons.  Not one.

But, ok

    • I’d go with the Titleist if you liked the look of the blades but were suffering with distance. They should be a little more forgiving than a full blade and still retain some workability. Also remember to consider the shafts each have as this will be a big contributor to how they feel. Clemsonfan is right though… get fit or spend a bit of time on a launch monitor 🤙
    • Day 28: 2026.01.30 Managed to make time for a few swings out back today. Need a proper bit of range time this weekend.
    • Day 30, 1/30.  Six minutes this morning hitting a few more range balls, indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Did this before leaving the house.

    • Hi All my New Year’s resolution was to start playing golf again. I’ve caught the bug and am really enjoying hitting balls at a couple of my local ranges.looking forward to getting back out on courses in the spring. Based in the UK and 38 years old, I’ve been playing since I was a kid. Best handicap I’ve held is 2 in my mid 20s. Over the past 10 years I’ve played once or twice a year, sometimes with friends or for work. Could shoot 4-5 over, but just as easily shoot 15-20 over. I’ve moved to South Wales and am very lucky to be near some world class links courses, which gives me even more motivation to get playing again! I will start looking for a local coach in my area when I have more time to invest, but I recalled scouring this forum a few years ago and finding some good tips and advice so wanted to give it a try to see if there were any glaring issues I could fix in the meantime!  A few swings below… one from 1st week Jan and one from today. I have fixed my P1 takeaway to my liking and am now working on what I see as pretty severe early extension & hip thrust. Also terrible hip rotation. I’d like confirmation that this is indeed a problem and and suggestions on a few good drills. Thanks for reading 🙂 I've been Playing Golf for: 30+ years My current handicap index or average score is: 10ish over My typical ball flight is: mid The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push right with irons, hooks and push with driver!  Videos:
