I've been Playing Golf for:

My current handicap index is 9

My typical ball flight is: hook

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: lack of compression and timing of downswing

Hi welcome to the site. I'd work on creating a little more space with the distance between your right shoulder and right hand.

Right arm over-flexes and the upper part of the right arm gets a bit behind you. Causes the arms to get behind your pivot on the downswing making it hard for you to "compress" the ball.

That is good stuff. Do any of the other items on the swing cause lack of consistency? 1) strong right hand 2) inside takeaway ) shifting vs rotation of body and hips
