The Golf Week tour quality is dependent on the local franchise owner and local tour director. There are some great local franchises and there are some seriously bad ones. If you join one of the bad ones with poor tour director then don't plan on having an enjoyable golf experience.

In addition, the cost is high. The average cost is $75 to $80 per event in North Carolina and that is if you don't participate in the skins or give any money to the charity of choice. Your option is to belong to a country club and you can belong to some of the best for the same amount of money.

I played in the Denver, CO. tour for several years and it was as enjoyable of a league and golf experience one could have. This was the result of having a tour director that was focused on insuring a professionally managed group and focused on insuring all had an enjoyable golf experience. After relocating to NC I found just the opposite. The NC group is poorly managed and the tour director could care less if the members have an enjoyable golf experience.

The point is not all tours are equal as they are franchises and I hope if you join the tour that your local tour director is professional and provides you with an enjoyable golf experience.

For me I'll stay with the country club. Great golf, great social experience, great for the family with the social events and swimming pool for the family.
