I've been Playing Golf for: 3 years, regularly; 20 years off and on

My current handicap index or average score is: 14.7

My typical ball flight is: a high fade

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: a push or a push fade

I've had a few lessons. Pro advice has ranged from quiet the hips and strengthen my grip to release more through the ball. My grip is very strong, with three knuckles showing, but that doesn't help much with my problem which ranges from a push to a straight fade to a push fade. I've also worked a lot on trying to keep my back facing the target as long as possible in my downswing. Still, I think my hips are blocking my hands, but I'm really interested to hear some comments. Thanks so much for taking a look!

Welcome to the forum @nedbair

For the down-the-line view, have the camera aimed down the line where your toes are set up. This gives a better view for analysis.

I would start with flaring your feet at address. This helps a lot of things including a better hip turn and getting your weight to go forward more on the downswing. Check out the thread below.

Getting the weight to go forward is one of the keys that all good golf swing have. The Five Simple Keys (thread below) is not a swing method but a set of commonalities that all good swing have regardless of specific method. Check this out too.

Thanks! I've experimented with opening my leading foot 22.5 degrees, not 35 deg though. I've been told to keep the trailing foot square. Didn't seem to make a difference in my ball flight either way but I'll try flaring both feet out.

Try it out. Flaring both allows your hips to rotate more, so it makes it easier. It will take a couple of weeks of practice to make it a routine fell.
