Im looking for a new set of irons for myself. Im coming from the original slingshot irons that where fitted for my father. He plays +1/2 and regular flex. Im to the point now where I would like to get my own set. I need stiff flex and standard length. My iron play is the strongest part of my game. I hit my 6 iron about 180. The weak parts of my game is off the tee and short game. Resulting in a index of 14. Im trying to get a set of irons that have a wide range of useablity as I improve my game and remove my over the top swing. Im also looking for alot of forgivness.Trying to bridge the gap between GI and player Irons I have formulated a list of the follow:

755 with dg s300
cg reds
x20 tours with dgs300
x tours
i10
s59
slingshot tours

please let me know any recommendations you have

May I add Callaway Fusion or the new FT (coming in Jan '08) and Mizuno MP-57 on your list? From these two alone I'm leaning toward Mizuno for its superior feel.

If I were you I would re-list the choices as follows:

1. Mizuno MP-57
2. Mizuno MP-60
3. Titleist 755
4. Titleist 775.CB
5. Titleist 695CB
6. Callaway FT
7. Callaway X-20 Tour
8. TaylorMade r7 TP

I'd definitely demo the Mizunos first.

if you are looking for an iron with a mid-high launch with lots of forgiveness and money isn't an issue, go with either the Taylor Made burner xd irons or the r7 cgb max. if money is tight, go with the Taylor Made r7's. all are awesome performing irons that have about the highest resale value in golf so you won't be disappointed.

First of all what handicap do you belong in . If you are in the high end then Blades and tour irons are out of the picture . Mid handi ... There are a lot to choose from . best you go to a golfing warehouse and have you self fitted . Low handi ... CB and MB may be to your liking . On this level you dont need forgiveness . What you would want is one that helps you do draws or fades at a moments notice . Check the marketplace out . there are a couple of sets that may interest you.

they're all good irons - but if you like the S59's you should take a look at the S58's. They're more forgiving, more appealing to the eye and newer.

Definately forged. Probably some kind of perimeter weighting but if you can musclebacks I'd go for that.
Also I'd narrow it down to 3 that you like then find the cheapest.
In My Bag:
Driver: r580XD R flex
