This is gonna be kinda loaded here.

First, I am currently playing Mizuno MP 60s. I like em, but I can't hit them consistently. My buddy, who is a much better golfer than me, showed me the Maltby Playabilty Factor of the Mizunos (451) and said that this explains why I have trouble with them. Is the MPF scale worth considering for someone who is a high handicapper like myself?

Since this discovery of MPF ratings, I was thinking of upgrading to a more playable iron. I like the idea of one length irons, but can't decide whether to get the forged or normal F7s. Both are more playable than my Mizunos according to MPF. However, someone once told me that a more playable iron loses distance, which I would rather not sacrifice. Any truth in this?

Also, I have been playing a lot recently and am looking to get some lessons. I'd like to be able to play irons that will allow me to progress the most, so should I then go for the forged irons?

Thanks for taking the time to read this and taking the time to respond!
