I am off 17 looking to get to single figures by the end of the year. I am looking at buying Titleist 695 CB's as I love the soft feel at impact but would they be too hard for me to hit?? Any recommendations are also welcome.

Would you possibly consider waiting a while? If so, Titleist is coming out with 4 new irons this year (I would suggest the AP2 or the Z-B to you). If not i dont think you will have a ton of trouble growing into a set like that.

Like crafty said Titleist is coming out with a new line of irons, so if you don't mind waiting a little while then do it, because you might like the new ones better. But if you really want to get a set now then go ahead a buy some. But again with the release of the new irons, depending on your situation you could wait to get the 695's because then they will be cheaper. I think there isn't really a way to go wrong with Titleist irons. I just wish I had the money for some

I recommend that you go to your local golf shop and see if they have any of these items, used. If they have a simulator, I would hit as many different clubs, as possible. If you like them but find them pricey, look on ebay or other sites.

As long as your swing is mechanically sound, the club won't make much of a difference. Also, look into getting fitted by a pro. A good fitting lasts a few hours and you can have them tweaked. You may also replace the shafts, essentially, the engine of the club. From experience, I did this before I purchased my Mizuno MP32s. I bought them on ebay, at a ridiculously low price, took them to a fitter where I had the shafts replaced and the lie angles tweaked. I also had certain irons made a degree weaker. Well worth the money and still cheaper than buying them new.
